Vaping Vs. Smoking

Vaping is reported to be just as bad as cigarette smoking. New Research Shows Thousands of Vapers Are Actually Healthier

At the start of 2016, 7,124 Malay people participated in an online study pertaining to electronic cigarette use and motivations. The study came to the conclusion that current vapers are “almost uniquely former smokers” that have moved to vaping as a method to quit or reduce smoking, according to VapingPost.

 

The participants largely corresponded that their health has improved since switching completely or partially to vaping. For example:

 

  • 9 percent reported better sleep
  • 4 percent reported better ability to exercise
  • 88 percent reported improvement in personal tasting pleasure
  • 5 percent reported improved sense of smell
  • 4 percent reported improved breathing

 

These discoveries are in contradiction with the Malaysian government’s claim that e-cigarettes are a doorway to smoking for non-smokers. These assertions have negatively affected the vaping market as they face pressure from the spread of deceptive information. But in reality, vaping, e-cigarettes, and vape shops are not the ones to blame seeing as many smokers turn to vaping as a means to quit and live healthier than before.

 

Dr. Farsalinos, who conducted the study, foresees that about 80 percent of existing vapers would “likely or very likely” relapse back to smoking regular cigarettes. He has been outspoken about the spread of distorted information in Malaysia and now with the results from this study, he can precisely defend the case for e-cigarettes and vapors. In opposition, Dr. Dalilah of the National Cancer Society of Malaysia has publicly stated, “vaporized nicotine is similar to nitric acid which may trigger cancer,” which has been discredited by far more than Dr. Farsalinos.
